Handwriting is a complex skill and there are many children who have difficulty mastering it. This may be the cause of frustration/ distress and thus affects the child’s desire to write. Which further leads to anxiety for the parents and teachers who watch the child struggle.
We at REACH have been conducting social and handwriting groups for the past 6 years. These groups are structured on the basis of handwriting without tears curriculum. The group involves fun, multi-sensory based games and activities that are required for handwriting mastery. This program addresses skills required for writing in a social environment, thus accelerating the progress.
Group dynamics by itself, help in motivating children socially, for a better performance. This group also specifically targets social skills like turn-taking, sharing, helping, problem solving, organization and planning and social competence. This will invariably help develop emotional regulation, self-control, self-confidence and a sense of responsibility in your child.
