School based OT

Children spend a major part of their day at school. A child is expected to participate, attend, engage and respond to a variety of activities through a school day, while meeting expectations, set in the school environment.

School based Occupational Therapy involves us therapists, working towards providing a continuum of services to support students and school personnel to promote maximum learning while addressing the challenges that would hamper a student’s emotional, social, physical, and academic development.

Reach Therapy Center for Children has been associated with the American school of Bombay since 2014. Our therapists work on campus and are involved in constantly and meaningfully scaffolding the student in the school setting. Apart from the American School of Bombay; our therapists also consult and work with a number of other schools in Mumbai. In schools, Occupational Therapists focus on academics, play & leisure, social participation, self-care skills, and transition. Occupational Therapists’ expertise includes activity & environmental analysis and modifications with the primary goal being to reduce the barriers to participation and aid students in accessing learning opportunities.

We teach ways and methods for inclusion in a classroom, as a training program for teachers and parents and also as a leadership program for organizations.
